January Photo Dump

Ollie got to come to preschool on the day we learned about dogs:

Last picture of Christmas Break...Kimber, JJ, and Sam all headed home on January 5th.  We loved having them home for 2-3 weeks!
Blue skies and this view are my favorite!
Everyone said they were tired so we took a short nap (like 30 seconds, haha) :)
I love when he stands at the window seat and looks out the window...most of the time waiting for Konrad to come back home :)

Ollie watching the sunrise :)
Covid kept me home from watching Allison in person.  So grateful for streaming!
It was fun watching Ainsley's baptism on zoom!
It's way more fun in person!!!
Allison came in our room and Ollie jumped up on the bed...gross!

Felt well enough to clean out the laundry room cupboards.  Lucky me when I discovered my candy from the Molen buy back :)
I didn't' take a before, but here is the after
The dock is almost finished!
So pretty!
Our area was socked in fog for about 8 days.  One day on our walk through the fog Ollie came home covered in ice.
He went through a chewing phase again...puzzle pieces, ecollar remotes, phones, and kindles.  Luckily most items can still be used!
I also love when he stands on this table, that Konrad's uncle made when he was a teenager, and looks out the window
Prepping Allison's room and found some money.  I sent her this picture and said "thanks for paying me to clean your room" :)
Painted her walls white:
Camryn and her friends at school making snowmen :)
Konrad put a doggy door in his office door, hoping that Ollie could come and go as he pleases (and stop scratching on the door, ruining the door and interrupting meetings), BUT he is afraid of it.  We are slowly easing him into it, so maybe in a week or two he'll use it on his own :)  The girls sometimes show him how to do it :)
Grandma Mary Ellen Williams celebrates her 90th birthday on Feb 2, 2022, so we set up a time for our entire Crabtree family to skype with her.  Not all the teenagers were around, but we had a great time and it was so good to see her face, hear her voice, and laugh at her jokes :)

Covid Hits the Crabtree's (with trip to Florida thrown in)

I started feeling gross the first week of January.  I had a horrible headache and actually spent 2 days in bed (the 8th and 9th), but I took a test on Saturday and Monday and both were negative.

Sunday, Konrad has a sore throat and body aches.

Kimber lets us know that she tested positive on January 11th, she had the same symptoms as Konrad but also lost her taste and smell for a bit.

Allison has a headache and sore throat on Monday and Tuesday, she tested negative one day that weekend

Camryn came home on Tuesday with a sore throat and headache.

Konrad and Allison take tests on Tuesday the 11th, Konrad is positive:

I cancel preschool for the week b/v I've been exposed to both Konrad and Kimber.
Allison, Camryn, and I go and get tested at a testing site and wait 3 days for results.  Camryn was positive, Allison and I were negative.  Luckily Camryn was feeling better and her 5 days were up so she could go back to school the following Tuesday (they had Monday off for Martin Luther King Day)

I still felt gross, so had a virtual doctors appointment and got medicine for a sinus infection, although the doctor is sure I'm just getting false negatives and really had covid.

Allison starts feeling sick again on Monday, she hasn't felt well in over a week, but the symptoms changed a bit.  She tested positive on Tuesday Jan 18th:
Konrad and I were flying to Florida on the 18th and I had specifically prayed to know if Allison had covid before we left b/c then I would know to just stay home for her.  We knew at 6:30 am that she had it, but somehow by 11:00 I'm heading to the airport, still heading to Florida.  I justified it b/c her covid was basically a bad cold and she would be fine. That Stephanie could check on her on the preschool days. I was looking forward to sunshine and time with Konrad.  I've had my antibiotics, but was still not feeling well.  I was even in tears on the way to the pick up Konrad's mom, who would drop us off and then take the car home, b/c I didn't think I should be going. Let's just say I should have headed back home with her.

We land and find out my bag did not make it on the plane.  Lame.  It should be there by 4:00 Wednesday afternoon.

So the next morning (my birthday!!!) I wake up, still not feeling well, walk down the street to Ross and find a swimsuit, coverup, and sandals.  I also grabbed an acai bowl and then sat by the pool.  Feeling worse and worse as the day goes on and realize my symptoms are changing.  Konrad had work all day and evening so I just relaxed that night.  Picked up some Pei Wei to eat at the hotel and Konrad brought me some cheesecake after his dinner.  My bag showed up around 8:00 that night.  We watched the Amazing Race together.

Birthday posts from my kids

Yum!
Thursday I take a covid test, I had one packed on in my bag, and I was positive.  Sad face.  (funny that the hotel has the same counters as my bathroom at home...)
I think I sat outside one or two more times, but it was cloudy most of the time.  We went for one walk, but I had hardly any energy.  Konrad went and picked up food for us for all our meals.  I read a lot and watched a lot of Heartland :)
We thought about going home early, but in the end I just didn't feel well enough to travel.  Plus if we waited until Sunday, I would have been on my day 5 which, after 5 days everyone else in my family felt fine, and hopefully I wouldn't be contagious.  Unfortunately I didn't feel better but through the power of prayer (my mom and sisters were praying for me) I felt much better for the 7 hours I was on the plane.  My ears really hurt coming down, but other than that my stomach wasn't hurting and my headache was for sure dulled.  I was hoping I would continue to feel well, but that wasn't the case.

It took me another 3-4 days to actually feel well, to have my headache disappear.  I had a headache for 20 plus days and it was miserable.  Not having a major headache is life changing!

Stephanie taught preschool for me for 2 weeks (the one week was planned b/c of Florda, but the second was last minute).  She was a life saver!  One preschooler ended up with covid, but I doubt it came from me or my family.

It was a long month and I was so glad when February hit!!!

Oh and Sam had covid as well, they never sent me a picture of their test results though...they had it at the same time as Allison and I.

Belated New Years Eve Dance

Our stake had a NYE dance planned for NYE, but it was snowy and icy and we had to cancel (we didn't want the youth driving when the temps were in the teens and the roads were covered in ice).

Luckily our Stake Presidency said we could host it a week later.  We had 376 masked youth attend the dance and it was amazing.  Probably a super-spreader of Covid, but we had a good time helping out with herd-immunity :)

Van Gogh Experience

Konrad wanted to go to the Van Gogh Experience in Seattle and asked the kids who wanted to go.  They were all game. I think I was the one who was least excited about it (museums aren't really my thing).  We all had a great time and I'm really glad we went.

Our art work on display :)

Of course we needed a treat afterwards:
