July Photo Dump

I finally got rid of most of the clothes I had purchased at garage sales/thrift stores (stuff I couldn't return or pass on to someone else) for Ian.  I had a small box in my closet for the last 8 years.  Now I just have what is pictured in an even smaller box.  It was hard.  I cried.  I still wish more than anything that things could have been different!
Someone is sleeping in my bed!
When the Baumgartner's were here we took them out on the boat, hoping to get Tami up on a wakeboard.
Konrad got in to show her how:

 I surfed:
 Happy Birthday to this guy!
Cam rediscovered her outfit Konrad and Kimber brought back from Nepal.  She loved it for a couple of days and so did everyone who saw her wear it!
A chilly day at wildwaves but we rode the slides anyways!
 Cam discovered the scrambler!
And went on the "log ride" all by her self.  see her in that row all by her lonesome.  I was terrified she would come off crying.
But she came off wet and smiling :)
 Also loved the pirate ship!
 Outdoor movie at the McComb's:
Kimber sprained her ankle while in Boise and we had to go get it checked out to make sure it wasn't broken.  Her shoes make her feet look so big!

 Dashiel came over to play:
It was chilly and rainy in July
She couldn't drive for a bit so I took her to work:
Tami did get up on the surf board!
 Cam drove us home
We worked at the farm once a month from April-August.  This day we got to harvest kale, much better than pulling weeds, but not quite as fun as planting seeds I hear.

We babysat a bunny.  Too stinky and poops way too much for my liking.
Love these ladies and I love when Shaun cooks us dinner :)

Samantha turns 16!

Sam turned 16.  It's crazy.  We flew in late the night before her birthday and so we just slept at my parents b/c we didn't want to have to make all our beds at 1:00 in the morning.  So she got to open presents from Gma and Gpa riding first:

Then we went to lunch.  Sam and Allison drove the leaf.  Funny story, as we were pulling out of my parents neighborhood we needed to turn right to get to Hop and Drops, but Sam was going to turn left.  My parents were honking at her and pointing to the right, but she just ignored them and turned left anyways.  I called them and asked where they were going.  They said they were following the map to Hop and Drops.  When I asked which city they were going to they said "Bonney Lake".  We had our first lesson on choosing the correct location when putting something in google maps.  They turned around and met us at the Lakeland Hills location :)
 More presents at home:

She is ready for ski season!
She wanted a oreo pudding pie for her dessert that day:

We had her family part they following Sunday.  All the cousins were "hailing" her.  It was pretty funny.  Until it got old.  Then it was just annoying (haha!)

I made her a homemade copycat DQ ice cream cake.  And we had copycat Olive Garden fettucine alfredo with chicken for dinner.

Grandpa Crabtree got her a lasso to help wrangle up some boys (since she is 16 now :))
We sure love our Sam.  She keeps us laughing and inspires us with her goals.  She just started working at the YMCA teaching swim lessons and is also still babysitting and working for Glitterbug.  She is looking forward to the snow so she can hit the slopes.  She seems to love her friends and netflix above all else.  She has chosen to do running start this coming year so won't actually be at the high school other than for dive practice.  So glad you are in our family Sam.  We'd be lost without you! (well not lost lost, b/c you are more likely to get lost than us, but just lost...like sad!)

Arizona [before and after the reunion]

We were so excited to see the Baumgartner's before and after our reunion.  So glad they let us stay with them.  They were great hosts!

She must have loved their soft carpet b/c she kept choosing to sleep on that instead of her cute little bed.

We got to visit with Grandma Carlson for one afternoon

We tried out ice blocks in their pool.  It was 97 degrees in the pool that day (115 in the air I think).  The ice blocks melted within 5 minutes :)

We finally go to go and see the Lion King
And we went to a community pool that had a flow-rider for Konrad and Sam to ride.  Funny story.  I decided I was going to be brave enough to jump off the high dive. I convinced Allison and Kimber to do it with me.  I climbed up there once and turned right around b/c I was terrified.  The life guard gets on his bull horn and says "Ma'am, if you do that again I will have to come and walk you down the ladder.  If you go up you need to jump off".  I was so determined to do it, so after letting like 5 boys go before me, I climbed that ladder, walked to the end and jumped.  I was still shaking 5 minutes later.  I think I'm done with the high dive.

Love that these guys are such good friends!
