Steph and I played against each other in church volleyball regionals.

Konrad took Allison and Camryn to go and watch the play Charlotte's Web at Auburn Riverside High School.  Annie, from our ward, was in the play.

Guess Who? for Mutual:

Allison used an amazon gift card to buy a bag of lucky charm marshmallows.

Preschool Thanksgiving Feast:

Allison played on the 6th grade basketball team.  She was a point guard and had a great season.

Young Women In Excellence

There year our theme was Light The World.  We've spent quite a bit of time this year trying to help motivate the girls to share their light with those around them.  Many acts of service were performed and I'm sure many people made happier b/c of that service.

I was in charge of the dessert table and went with a yellow theme to represent light.

Diving Districts

Samantha advanced to leagues and then onto districts.

Her coach said it was very unlikely that they would have so many young divers head to districts but Sumner had 4.  3 freshman and 1 junior.

Sam ended up placing 16th at districts, which was absolutely amazing.  She was the only one from her school to place.  It wasn't enough to get to her State, but there's always next year :)

We really enjoyed watching her do her thing.  So proud of her for trying something new and working really hard so she could excel at it as well.

 I didn't take any pictures of her real dives (I was taking video on my phone) at districts but here is one of her warm up ones...looks like she probably landed on her face (good thing it was only practice :))

End of the season banquet:

Clearwater Beach, Florida

Konrad had a couple of appointments in the Tampa, Florida area so I tagged along and we made a long weekend out of it.

We loved it there and can't wait to go back!

The trip got off to a rocky start.  Our plane was supposed to leave at 7:30 in the morning.  We had a light snow storm...like maybe an inch stuck to the ground, but it threw off the Alaska Airlines like you wouldn't believe!  We sat on the plane, at the gate, until 10:30.  3 hours.  At which point the de-icing truck had just gotten to us, but b/c we had been sitting there for 3 hours by Federal Law they had to let us off the plane.  So we get off the plane, to get some food, got back on about 11:30.  At this point they had to come back to de-ice the plane (mind you it hadn't snowed for more than 4 hours and the snow was completely gone, had been since 8:00).  We finally took off at 12:30....the time we should have been landing in Florida.  It was insane.  I was just grateful I didn't have any children with me and that I had many books and games on my phone to keep me busy.  Our backs and legs were sore, but we survived!

 The sunsets were amazing and I wanted to be outside on the beach for each of them :)

 The sand is so stinking amazing (so soft and white!) and some people made some pretty awesome sand creatures!

 Another day, another sunset:

 It got chilly once the sun went down...so jackets were a must!

 We were able to find a restaurant that was showing the Seahawks game that was right across the street from the beach where we could eat outside.  Perfect!

 We drove 1.5 hours south to see Siesta Beach...supposedly the sand was even better here.  It really was even softer.  I didn't think it was possible.

 We were there a few days before a sand castle building competition, but we were able to see some of the creations already in progress.  It was pretty amazing.

 There were so many hungry birds at this beach.  We had ordered a grilled cheese and some fries to share, before we could eat something yummy for real dinner and while we sat and ate it we were slowly surrounded, completely surrounded by seagulls.  They would sometimes get brave and take a few steps closer.  It was creepy.  Once we were finished I knew we couldn't leave the food try just sitting there, or they'd never leave us alone, so I decided to go throw it away.  Bad idea.  I ended up in a full sprint, running as fast as I could to get to the garbage which was easily 40-50 yards away, b/c all of those birds decided to chase me.  People were pointing and laughing, as well as covering their heads, as I ran past with my flock of birds.  I have never been so grateful to reach a garbage can before!

 We succeeded in watching 2 full seasons of Stranger Things while there.  We were quite proud of ourselves!

 Our last morning there I was amazed that I kept seeing these amazing shells everywhere.  I realized they housed crabs so I couldn't collect them, but still they were beautiful.

 In this picture each of those sand clumps is actually a hermit crab.  So many crabs!!
