The Only One That Makes Sense...

Tonight during our scripture reading Kimberlynn stopped me after reading Mormon 4:9. She said "Wow Mom, that one made sense" I looked at her, not really understanding what she meant. But she broke it down sentence by sentence

"And now all these things had been done...that makes sense"
"And there were thousands slain on both sides...that makes sense"
"both the Nephites and the Lamanites...even that makes sense."
She followed with:
"That's the only part in this whole book that makes sense!

I'm not sure why that one stuck out to Kimber, I guess it's a start.

She has been showing a lot more interest in reading scriptures lately. She wants to know what words mean and what's happening. Now I just need to develop the patience to answer her questions even though the clock almost says 8:00. We all know what happens to mom's after 8:00...it just isn't pretty!

I Love Craigslist!

I made, yes I said MADE (as opposed to spent), 150 bucks today! I put all our baby clothes on Craigslist and today I sold 4 bins of them! Whoo-hoo! Forget garage sales...who wants to sit outside all day???

I guess we'll be in trouble if we ever end up with another baby girl. I shouldn't be too worried though, the necklace did say the next one would be a boy....which is why there won't be a next one! (j/k - I'm not that against having a boy, it just hasn't happened!)

Anyways, I love making money AND cleaning out my garage at the same time! What a day!

Sam and Kayla BFF

Sam had a great time playing with her cousin Kayla this past weekend. They spent hours jumping on the bed (I know, it sounds bad, but Grandma Crabtree said it was okay), swinging, eating snacks, doing puzzles, and watching movies. I really wish they lived closer, I know they'd be the best of friends!

Sam and Kayla enjoying dessert...why does Sam have to wear it??? (she even came home from preschool today with a black mustache from a cupcake)

Watch Out Babies...

Miss Alli loves and I mean LOVES babies. She had the best weekend playing with her new baby cousin Jaxson (not to be confused with her other cousin Jackson that is almost 2). Aunt Macie let her "feed" him his bottle...poor kid. If that bottle was within her grasp she grabbed it and tried to feed it to him. Luckily she was gentle but he just wasn't hungry. She even pretended to hear him cry, then would say "he needs his bottle".

Baby Jaxson lives in Utah, so we won't get to see him very often, but luckily for Alli another baby was born for her to play with...Steph's baby Jordan. Hopefully he'll survive the love of his older cousin!

On The Way To School..

As I was driving Sam and Colin to school today this is what I hear:

"My mom can get more mad than your mom"

"No way, my mom can get really really really mad!"

I won't tell you who said what...can you guess?

Anyways it made me laugh and I thought I'd share.

I Got It

I finally got the play kitchen I've been wanting. I've attempted to buy 15 or so kitchens off craigslist and finally hit the jackpot today. Not only was this the kitchen I REALLY wanted, but it was also in Maple Valley. Yeah! I saw the ad go up 30 minutes after she posted it...my lucky day!

1st Easter Egg Hunt This Year

We invited some friends over to the park for an Easter Egg hunt and potluck lunch. We had a great time, even though we froze. We ended up staying outside the whole time, b/c I couldn't imagine 31 children running through my house! Wouldn't that have been fun??? Anyways, thanks friends for coming over to play with us!

The whole line up....we were pretty impressed in all these kids, only one was a non-walker!

Checking out the goods....

My Favorite Things

My sister-in-law asked me to list my favorite things...I'm not sure how exciting they'll be, but we'll give it a shot.
1. Email/Blogging...I've never been a big phone person, so email is the best invention. I can do all my "talking" through the computer, plus I can "talk" to many people at the same time. I spend way too much time doing it, but hey I love it.
2. Thrift store shopping...nothing beats a good deal. I love holidays, not only b/c we get to celebrate whatever holiday it is, but it also means that my favorite thrift store will be having 50% off! Whoo-hoo. Yes, I am that cheap...I won't buy anything at the thrift store unless it is 50% off. Sad, huh?
3. Reading...nothing like a good book. Although I only read "fluff", nothing heavy for me please. I like to enjoy a book like I would enjoy watching a chick flick.
4. Aerobics...I have become a feel-guilty-if-I-miss-a-day exerciser. I feel so much better knowing I started my day off with step aerobics, walking/running, or doing some work out DVD. I NEVER thought I'd become that person...to give you an idea of how much I hated exercise, I literally cried after I had to run a mile (yes only a mile, but seriously I was going to die) in my senior year weight training class (where I could barely even lift the bar). I even dropped the class and became a T.A. for it instead....SAD!
5. Snack Food...I love anything and everything snacky. Candy, crackers, chips, cookies, etc. My new favorite snack is Chocolate Peanut Butter Chex Mix...good stuff.
6. Throwing Parties...I love to have parties at my house. Baby showers, lunch get togethers, Christmas parties... anything including friends and food!
7. Organizing...I love to organize things. A person could never have too many bins, if you ask me!
8. Reality TV...this one should be up closer to the top of the list (all though I don't think they are really in any order). I am a reality TV junkie. Pretty much all I watch is reality. Biggest Loser, Survivor, and Amazing Race are my favorites by far. American Idol just isn't doing it for me anymore (not that I don't watch it every week). I have become a fast forwarder on AI nights. I also love the food network and HGTV, although I couldn't tell you the last time I watched anything from either of those channels.
9. Dates with my husband...Konrad and I have been pretty lucky, we've got good friends and family that are willing to 'swap' kids with us so we get plenty of dates. Those dates are what keep me grounded.
10. Playing Volleyball...I wish I could play more, our church season really needs to be longer.
11. Playing games...I'll play any game, any time, and I could care less if I win. I just LOVE to play. My fav's are Canasta, Pictionary, Settlers, Ticket to Ride, UNO, and Speed Scrabble...oh, and don't forget Boggle and Rummy Cube...man I could go on forever!
12. Scrapbooking...not much to say about that, it's fun, I just wish I did it more.
13. Craigslist...I've been finding many treasures for my preschool on Craigslist lately. My sister Michelle, just moved to the Portland area, now I can start searching down there too!
14. Nap time...now that I think about it this may be my favorite favorite thing. Konrad works from home so I get to run errands or I can email, blog, search Craigslist, etc...ALL BY MYSELF in the peace and quiet of my house.
15. My family. I just think they are great. My girls are pretty good kids. Sure they drive me nuts some times, but that's how it should be. How else would I become a better person. I love my husband who makes my life so much easier. I love all my extended family for all they are willing to do for me and for the examples they are. Wow, I'm getting a little cheesy, sorry about that.
Anyways, those are a few of my favorite things...
oh wait
16. Cruises...how could I forget that. There is not better way to vacation.
All right, that's all for now!
I encourage all my Crestwood/Renton Highlands friends to list their favorites as well. Come on girls, give me something to read!
