Thursday, our last full day of vacation consisted of breakfast and shopping at the mall. Swimming in the afternoon at hotel, a tour of the palace in Madrid, and souvenir shopping.

This mall had a full on market in it. Butchers, fish stands (think Pikes' Place), produce, etc.
The pool was fun, a little cool, but they had fun.

Konrad had decided to take pictures of sewer covers. Unfortunately he decided at the end of our trip, so we missed out on all kinds of sewer covers. Happy face? Sad face? Confused face? Sewer covers....really??

In the Palace gates, in the courtyard. We thought we were getting in free b/c we saw on the website that M-Th from 6-8 it was free. We found out that was only for Europeans. Not Americans (or any other non-Europeans). Lame. Oh well.

These ham bone things were EVERYWHERE. So gross. Can you see the hoof that is still attached? While we were souvenir shopping Konrad scared Kimber and Sam to death with a pillow shaped just like one of these ham bones. Who would want that???

We really liked Madrid. In fact we really liked Spain. But no, I don't want to move there. Visiting was nice and I wouldn't be opposed to visiting it again. Sorry Konrad.
