Last Day of School

Finally, the last day of school arrived. 

Here are pictures from before they left for school yesterday, as well as a picture from the FIRST day of school so we can compare:

 I headed outside to take a whoo-hoo-summer-is-here-picture, but I was greeted by a sobbing Allison.  Soon followed by a sobbing Kimber.  Kimber is sad that she is leaving her school (even though she is so excited to go to Middle School) and Allison is sad that Kimber is leaving as well.  

 Sam said she cried on the bus, but was feeling happy once she got home :)

Here's to a good summer.  As of this morning, I'm not sure how it's going to go.  I am one of those I-Love-Summer type of moms, but this year I'm already starting to worry.  The fighting, oh the fighting.  The way their ears have decided not to work.  Everything took me asking 5 times this morning.  We'll see how it goes....we really need to go to Hawaii for a month again, that seemed to keep everyone happy last year!!!  Mom???  Dad???  Can we jump in your suitcases this weekend???

6th Grade Graduation

I can't believe she is done with elementary school.  Crazy how time flies!

I thought the graduation started at 2:30, so I thought I'd be smart and go buy her some flowers and then get to the school around 2:00 so that I could feed Camryn, get Sam and Alli from class so they could watch, get a good seat, etc. 

LUCKILY I left when I did b/c it started at 2:00, not 2:30.  But this also meant that I was not ready.  I had a screaming baby (who needed a diaper change and wanted to eat), I had to get the other girls from their classes, I had to find a seat, get the camera ready, etc.  I quickly changed Cam's diaper, passed her off to some PTA member that I didn't know, ran down the hall (don't tell the principal) to get Sam and Alli (luckily Alli was just coming in from recess and I found her right next to Sam's class...2 birds with one stone :)), run back to get the screaming baby from the stranger I gave her to, dash to my seat, throw on my cape nursing cover as quickly as possible so that I could stop the crying before the 6th graders made their entrance.  I think she stopped with 1 second to spare.  Oh wait, I forgot I also realized before throwing on my cape nursing cover, that I could not nurse and take pictures of Kimber at the same time (especially from where I was sitting) (man too bad that nursing cover isn't really a cape, then that would mean I was super woman and could have nursed, taken pictures, and stood on my head all at one time....).  So I dashed to the other side of the audience section, handed my camera to my friend Lori, and dashed back to my seat. 

Phew.  I'm tired again just thinking about all that. 

So thank you Lori for documenting Kimber's special day!  I owe you one (or 1,000 b/c Sam basically lives at your house....)

Father's Day 2013

Konrad's big present this year was a Tesla (I'll be claiming that for about 60 more years...every birthday, Father's Day, anniversary, Christmas, and Valentine's Day is taken care of (not really)).  We also have early church, so no breakfast in bed.

But he did get some yummy treats, a car washing tool, 2 naps, and lots of time with the girls.

On the way to Konrad's parents we went to the cemetery.  I like to think that 6 weeks ago tonight Ian was giving Camryn a big old hug and getting ready to send his little sister down to us (she'll be 6 weeks old tomorrow).  That's probably why she slept through the whole visit to the cemetery...she just saw him :)  It's pretty crazy to think that if Ian hadn't died, Camryn might not be here.  Wish they could both be here though (especially after just attending Coleman's 2nd birthday party...too cute!)!

 Konrad's first "nap" (don't think he actually slept, just enjoyed the sun) at his parents:

 Great Grandma Crabtree came over for dinner.  I think she enjoyed holding Camryn and I don't think she even disliked her name this time (when Konrad first told her we named her Camryn, she said "Who chose that name?" while looking appalled :))  Konrad told her that she had chosen it...he isn't very nice sometimes.  Trying to trick his own Grandma, who bless her heart, can't remember much anymore (soooo sad!!!)! 

 

Second nap.  This one was a real!

Grandma bought a brownie pop pan and we tried them out last night.  They were a bit messy, after dipping them in melted frosting and rolling them in sprinkles, luckily we were outside :)

 When we got home I pulled out the camera b/c Camryn was smiling quite a bit (it's fun when you see that she recognizes someone familiar and smiles :))

Cute Pictures

The beginning of June looked like this:

Sam ran for ASB Secretary.  We went with the "Don't Be Crabby...Vote for Sammy" slogan.  We took this picture, blew it up to 12x18 for her poster.  Thanks Aunt Britt for the shirt...I'm realizing now I'm surprised it still fits her, 2 years ago Britt made it for our family reunion.  (Sam did not win, but she had fun trying :))

 

Allison wanted a picture taken too that day :)

 Allison's soccer team was chosen (I'm sure it didn't have anything to do with the fact that her coach now works for CCS :)) to participate in the grand "opening" of the new city soccer fields.  She got to meet the mayor and everything.  Her team was the first to play on the new fields.  Pretty fun!

 She got this awesome balloon animal at the opening.  I think it's by far my favorite balloon animal ever.  I guess the lady was amazing.  She even made a monkey in a palm tree...wish I could have seen it.  (But I was shopping the garage sales at Lakeland Hills....priorities, right???)

 My friends have been braiding their daughter(s) hair like this and I wanted to try it out.  First try...not too bad if I say so myself :)
