BIG trip
We are almost a week into our vacation...it's been great so far.
I'm not going to include pictures at this point, I guess I'll have to go back and add them when we get home.
The drive down was un-eventful. The girls did great, as planned :) (can you really plan for that?), and there was not any fighting/whining/crying (well not very much at least).
The reunion at Bear Lake was WONDERFUL. We stayed in a great place. There were about 60 people at the reunion...each family (for the most part) had their own room with their own bathroom. It was nice. Kimber got to sleep in the bunk house with a few other cousins her age and the older teenage cousins. She felt pretty old. Right now in the Williams family there is a lull in teenagers so don't worry I wasn't throwing her into a room full of crazy teenage girls. There was Kimber, a nine year old, an 11 year old, a 12 year old, and then girls that were 18 and older.
The Inn had a pool, which the girls loved. I even got to try out some life guarding skills, when I had to jump in to save Sam once and a little Somalian girl as well. It was very 'Baywatch-like'.
We enjoyed a few great hikes and late night's of game playing. Of course there was TONS of food and TONS of family to enjoy.
I do have one story to 'journal'. We went and hiked into some caves one day (444 steps each way - a total of 888 steps!) and after returning to the Inn we settled in to enjoy my nephew Scotty's b-day party. After minute I realized that Kimber nor Alli were in the room. We went looking for them. Kimber was in the bunk room, but Alli was not with her. Alli is not one to venture out on her own. She is a follower, but won't explore by herself. All other children were accounted for, so I started getting nervous. As Konrad and I are starting to get worried I looked at him and said "You got her out of the car, right?" He looked at me blankly and said "No, did you?". I ran out to the car and sure enough, my baby girl is sobbing inside. The car was locked so I stood there talking to her through the window, trying to convince her that I really wasn't a horrible mom. Through the window she points down to her car seat buckle...she was very proud that she was able to get the bottom part undone, but she just couldn't get the top. I'm not sure what she would have done had she been able to get it undone, but at least she wouldn't have felt so trapped??? Finally Konrad brought the keys out and we got her out. I have never felt so bad in my life. It broke my heart. She mentioned that she was crying really loud for daddy but he couldn't hear her. Also, she saw the gate open and close a few times, but no one ever came to get her. Can we say horrible parents? I'm just glad that there was a birthday party going on, had it not been, we probably would have just assumed she was with someone else! She woke up that night around 11:00 just sobbing. I went to see what she needed and she just kept saying "I keep calling Daddy, but he won't come!" She's probably scarred for life!
*I realized I didn't add in the fact that she was only in the car for 10-15 minutes tops...not hours or anything! :)
Right now we are in sunny Gilbert, Arizona. It is H-O-T here. The girls enjoyed a slip-n-slide and a new pool from Walmart. Tomorrow we'll hit the local pool. Yeah for sun (and air conditioning)!

Ode to Ooma
What is Ooma you ask? It is my new phone service. Which means we have a new phone number. Not sure I should post it on here, but you should be getting an email soon telling you the new number.
Ooma is an internet based phone. You buy the system and then there are no fees. We get caller ID, voice mail, and long distance included. Is that why I love my ooma??

I love my ooma b/c I got a text today while getting my oil changed that I had a voice mail. Seriously? I had no idea it would do that.
So yes, I will hate ooma when the internet is down, but I will love the fact that even if it is down - if someone leaves me a message I'll get a text about it on my cell. Whoo-hoo!

Kimber's Recital - Annie/Grease
Kimber took a Musical Theater Dance class this year. She loved it. This class is right up her alley...singing, dancing, and acting.
They sang the song Tomorrow from Annie and then danced to a song from Grease.
I could hear Kimber over all the other girls while they were performing. It makes me wonder if all families can pick out their own daughters voice, or if she was really that loud. I do know that she has a big set of lungs when it comes to singing. I just didn't think she was louder than 11 other girls put together (well that's not true she has been louder than whole Primary's before...but all of these girls LOVE to sing and perform).
Here she is in all her "caked-on" makeup - she was so excited they got to "cake it on"!

End of a busy week
We had another busy week... full of lots of yummy food, so I'm feeling rather blah right now! :)
Alli and I had our last day of preschool yesterday as well as our graduation party. Technichally only 2 of my preschool students actually "graduated" and are moving onto Kindergarten, oh well it was still fun. I figure we had around 30+ people here...short and simple (maybe too short and too simple...but hey it's preschool :)).
This morning was our aerobics party. Which means we work out then eat junk :) Can I just say that Shauna Tyler's orange rolls are the best?????
Tonight we had our Quarterly Primary Activity. We did a Family BBQ...so basically a Ward Party :) It was fun, chaotic at times, but fun. Just wish I could have focused us more on families (the Primary theme for the year) but without a microphone it was too tricky to try and keep the attention of that many people.
I came home exhausted and lazy...I think the week finally caught up with me.
Now I've moved on to the next "to-do-item" -- helping to plan the menu for Konrad's family reunion we are attending next week. Feeding 60+ people can be tricky! Especially when you are going to Bear Lake and there isn't a Costco down the street, or even a real grocery store for that matter! Luckily I've got great sis-in-laws/mom-in-law to work with.
Kimber has her dance recital tomorrow - she is pretty excited. I also get to go out with Konrad - he was out of town this week and leaves again on Sunday, so it will be nice to spend a few hours with him.

Samantha's Big Day
today was Samantha's ballet/tap recital. Here are some pictures...I tried uploading video but it won't work. It's late and I give up! :) Maybe tomorrow...
She was loving posing for the camera. I know it seems like a lot of pictures but I could have posted them ALL!!!! 
Everyone in this picture attended the rehearsal last night....I'm really upset that I didn't get a picture with her and gma and gpa Crabtree today. Grandpa even gave her flowers! (which she knew she was getting b/c she knows how to spell...no more spelling in front of her!) :)

Who Knew...
So Sam didn't have fifths disease like I thought...she had strep throat as well. I'm realizing I'm one of only a few that didn't know that a little sickness called Scarlet Fever comes from Strep Throat.
I took Sam to the doctor today after 1/2 the people I told that I had strep said "I bet Sam has Scarlet Fever"....I had no idea.
So if your child has a tiny sore throat (or just a really high pain tolerance like Sam) for 2 days, a fever for 2 days, and then a sand-paper rash on her "trunk" - think Strep Throat/Scarlet Fever.
We are both on antibiotics.
I feel great...just a slight discomfort in the throat. Headaches still very apparent though.
Sam has felt great since Tuesday morning (try explaining to your 5 year old that even though she doesn't feel sick she is sick....), we are just waiting until 4:00 tomorrow when her last hour of contagiousness will be over!
Fortunately, there are still 3 people in my house who didn't get any form of this sickness...let's hope it stays that way, b/c I don't want a repeat next week!
p.s. I am almost completely done with my preschooler's portfolios! Yeah! I have like 20 more captions to type up and tape down, then laminate all 11 books! Whoo-hoo!
p.p.s. I was really sad to find out today that the baluga (sp) whales are no longer at Point Defiance Zoo...they were one of my favorite exhibits. I guess one died and the moved the other to California. Sad!
p.p.p.s ...don't go to the zoo on a day it is 90 degrees, all the animals go missing! Except the walrus' and sharks...they are always swimming around.

We Are Alive - - - barely!
We've been busy the past few days/weeks (I guess we are always busy, so that isn't new).
We've also been pretty sick. Samantha had a fever on Sunday and Monday, followed by a rash, we still don't know what that one is. I'm thinking 5th disease, but I'm not sure. She also had a little sore throat back on Saturday. Kimberlynn woke up with pink eye, yes AGAIN, on Monday so she was home on Monday and Tuesday from school (as was Sam). I started feeling sick on Sunday, but nothing major, just not normal. It progressively got worse and I had my sister come in an teach the last 1/2 of preschool today so I could go to the doctor. My suspicion was right, I have strep throat. At least I got medicine, right???
I've got to feel better soon we've got tons going on the rest of this week:
-swim lessons tonight
-preschool field trip tomorrow
-activity days for Kimber tomorrow
-Enrichment tomorrow night for everyone but Konrad
-Friday I get to spend the day at Lakeshore Learning Center doing some major laminating
-Friday is also Sam's dance recital rehearsal
-after the rehearsal we have the school carnival
-Saturday is Sam's recital
-Konrad leaves town on Sat. morning
-baptism to attend Saturday evening
-Sharing time on Sunday
See I don't have time to be sick. Come on penicillin start working!
All right, time to go take it easy on the couch.
