Camryn celebrated her 2nd birthday today. She seriously lights up our lives and we are so glad she is ours! (let's be honest...she also makes things a little crazy....BUT we are still glad she is ours!!)
We had her family party, along with Jackson's, on Sunday.
Jack loves Big Hero 6 so I made him some Baymax cupcakes and made Camryn some Minnie mouse cupcakes and a Minnie Mouse cake (pictured below).
The best I could get of the two birthday kids...Cam wasn't cooperating.
Every present she opened she would say "more Minnie mouse". She just expected every present to be something with Minnie on it.
Eventually she started handing out presents to other people. Even after they were opened she insisted they were for whomever she had handed it too. She did a great job remember which present belonged to which person.
Camryn's Minnie Mouse cake. I used a Pyrex 3 cup bowl for the skirt and then stuck a Minnie Mouse doll in it and decorated it to look like a dress. Super quick and easy!
BTW - this is Cam's "picture face" fingers touching her cheeks...we see it often around here :)
Cheese face and blowing at the same time. Love it!
Telling Poomper to do it (Kimber)
Poomper to the rescue!
Of course she did receive a few Minnie Mouse items...this one being her favorite. She still pulls it everywhere she goes and carries all her Minnie Mouse dolls, clothes, and of course bows in it.
Today we had donuts for breakfast:
Then we had an hour and a half to celebrate her.
Presents:
She looked at the little girl on this package and said "Poomper". Looks just like her, right?
Another bucket for outside...
Which she had to play with right away..."Look Mom, more!!!"
Ring around the rosie on the trampoline:
We finally got her to come in and eat cookies (her favorite treat) before Samantha and I had to leave for a special Activity Days activity.
This time she got the candle out on her own!
And then we lit them two more times so she could keep doing it. Probably one of her favorite parts of the day :)
Camryn is hilarious and always surprises me with what she will say. I've been trying to keep track of what she says for the past week or so. Here are some of my favorites:
-
In a minute. She uses this when you tell her it's time to go, time for bed, time for lunch, etc
-
No thank you. She uses this when she doesn't want you to do something to her or if she doesn't want to go where you want her to go. Should we go inside..."no thank you"
-
Got it. When she can do something by herself
-
Mine!!!
-
Mess. She hates to be dirty and calls out every mess she sees
-
Yucky. and every time she says it she plugs her nose. Even if she is just pointing at a yucky puddle on the ground.
-
Minnie Mouse. Normally means she wants to watch Mickey Mouse Club House
-
Mommy. She calls most adult females Mommy. But Stephanie is for sure Mommy. When she sees her she yells "mommy!!!" and goes running to her. It gets confusing sometimes, but we figure it out. Often in the morning she will say "Mommies house?" meaning "Am I going to Steph's house", but sometimes I think she is talking about me and say "we are already here" You can see where the confusion comes in :). She also calls my friend Jenni - Lucy's Mommy. And Mark - Lucy's Daddy. Although Lucy is pronounced CiCi
-
She knows Colie, Kenzie, and Jack's names. And calls Jordan Jack as well. We are working on that.
-She calls Allison
Alli, but sometimes says Alli Sum.
-Sam is
Sam.
-Kimber is
Poomper or Pooper or Poofer.
-If you are in her way she will say
"Watch out!" I was standing at the park and she wanted to dig right where I was standing. "Watch out Mom."
-if she doesn't want you in her room or near her or doesn't even want you to look at her she yells
"Go Now!!!" and means business. She can be pretty mean.
-
Ready Mom? She uses this when we are playing together.
-
Your turn.
-
My turn.
-
I'll try. She uses this when she wants to do it by herself. Walking out the door, down the stairs, buckling her top buckle in the car, climb in and out of her high chair, etc.
-
I did it!!!
-
Ta-Da! After she does a little dance or a fun trick.
-
Won't fit. Either a person on something or clothing on someone.
-
Blue-red. Everything, and I mean everything is blue-red. What color is that ball. Blue-red. What color of birthday cake do you want. Blue-red. It's pretty funny. She used to know pink, but it must have been a fluke, b/c even pink is blue-red now.
-We are still working on saying please. She says it every once and awhile, but mostly still signs it. One day I asked her to say please and she signed it. I asked if she could say it with her mouth. So she signed in on her mouth instead of her chest. It was pretty funny.
-She still makes our made up sign for Curious George (pointing to her nose) and for Daniel Tiger (rubbing her cheek).
She says a ton more than that and is typically pretty entertaining.
A few other Camryn facts:
She is starting to sing...other than Let It Go, she doesn't know any real songs, but she is making up her own.
She still takes a nap everyday and sleeps for 11-12 hours at night.
She goes to Steph's house 3 mornings a week and LOVES it.
She loves to eat oatmeal, yogurt, watermelon, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, peaches, chicken nuggets, pears, pizza, guacamole from Chiptole, baby food pouches, apple sauce, pasta with sauce, ravioli, smoothies, fishies, pretzels, dry cereal, fruit snacks, granola bars, cucumbers, carrots, cookies and still drinks 3 bottles a day one in the morning, and the other two before nap and bedtime.
She likes to dance, but it has to be her idea. Sometimes she DOES NOT like us to dance and gets pretty made if we do.
She loves to be outside. At the park, on the tramp, or in the rock box.
She loves her sisters more than anything and they feel the same about her. I love watching all their sweet relationships with her. It is seriously is the best.
She runs to the door whenever Konrad or I get home from somewhere yelling "Daddy home" or "Mommy home" and greets us with giant hugs. And will often do that with the girls as well.
She loves to hug.
We still rock her a bit before bed and sing her songs. She falls asleep in her crib though after we lay her down.
She loves reading books and doing puzzles. She is seriously the best at doing puzzles. For the past 6 months she has been able to do most of my preschool puzzles. At first it was matching a picture to a picture or color to color, but now she can do it all by the shape of the puzzle piece. She loves the alphabet puzzles the most. The other day she was doing puzzles with the preschoolers and Suzie asked her where the E was and she pointed right at it. Fluke or not, it was pretty awesome :)
Seriously. We love this girl. So grateful for her. She brings out the best in all of us and helps us slow down and enjoy life (as much as we can with all the crazy things we have going on :))
