- Alli and Sam were sick this past weekend. Fevers, sore throats, and headaches. So grateful there wasn't throwing up involved. Also grateful for a PA friend who could check out Alli's throat to let me know if I should take her in to be tested for strep (which he said wasn't necessary, saved us some money :), thanks JT)
- I've been in a yucky funk the last week. No energy, no drive to do anything (except sit and watch TV...not sure getting cable was the best idea for us :)), just feeling blah. I think it all stemmed from the fact that I had the realization that I am doing preschool registration for the year that Ian should be attending. These kids would have been his friends. These are the kids he would want to have play dates with. I should only be accepting 11 students, saving one spot for my little guy. It's amazing how thoughts like that can cause the whole grieving process to start again. Man how I miss him. I watched a little boy at Panda Express the other night, who I'm pretty sure was almost 3, or had just turned 3. My life would be so different right now. It's hard to even imagine. BUT then I hold Camryn and think about the fact that she probably wouldn't be here if Ian had lived. I don't know that we would have tried again. I guess we could have had a "surprise" and had Camryn, but who knows. Such a hard thing. Grateful for one child that is here, feeling guilty for being grateful b/c she is here b/c one child isn't.
- Konrad and I get to go on an awesome trip pretty soon. US Virgin Islands, here we come. Thank you Wolters Klewer for holding your annual sales training there this year. Whoo-hoo. We are sending our kids to a thousand different places while we are gone, hopefully they don't get confused and go to the wrong place on the wrong day :). Thanks to all those who are helping us out. As of now, Camryn is coming with. I keep going back and forth on leaving her here. It's a tough choice! Thoughts???
- I am playing on a rec volleyball team. We will most likely be killed each week. We haven't played a real game yet, but I am prepared to lose each week and my goal is to just have fun. Then switch to a different city league where they let you choose the level you play....like the moms-who-didn't-play-in-college-or-maybe-not-even-in-high-school-but-love-the-sport kind of level. Wish us luck that we don't walk off the court crying, either b/c the ball was spiked at our face or b/c we got creamed :)
- Right now we are pretty low key around here. The only thing we have going on is piano, mutual, and activity days. So Wednesdays are our "busy" day and every other Thursday. I'm used to 3 other activities being thrown in there. Maybe it is a good thing we got cable, what else would we do???
- We are in the process of re-doing the loft. We've painted it (most the walls are the same grey as down stairs, one wall is a darker grey). The baseboards are ripped off and the new ones are painted and I think ready to be put on. We painted the banisters and window sill white. I can't wait for it to get done...new storage cabinets (with doors to hide all the toys, games, books, and blankets that go in the loft), a new to the room TV, a new couch. It will be awesome. As of now, our room is a disaster, housing all the stuff that goes in the loft. Oh well.
- Konrad and I are participating in our friend Jenni's fitness challenge. Which means we drink lots of water, keep our diet healthy, and exercise for an hour a day. Each month we add in one other month long challenge...right now its no sweets or soda. The worst part of these challenges is that the no sweets month always falls in January when I want to eat all kinds of birthday treats.
- Yes, I turn 35 this weekend. Crazy.
- I am on level 305 on Candy Crush. Yes, I need to get a life. But to be honest, most of what I play is while I am nursing or rocking Cam to sleep OR in the evening when I'm just watching TV anyways.
- We had an impromptu Seahawks party at our house on Saturday. We had plans to go to a friends, but they lost power, we had power, so the party was moved here :) Funny part, this is the second time these same friends had to move a party here...the last one was a few years ago on New Years Eve b/c they ended up with the stomach flu.
- I was watching a football game on TV the other day and it was really sunny where they were. I was surprised at the very strong envious feeling I had looking at that sunshine. Maybe I do need to move. Konrad and the girls were drawing "plans" for a new house that Konrad wants to build. Yep, that's his new "thing"...reading architecture books, sketching simple plans, and dreaming of multi-functioning furniture to fill the house that will be built on a sloping lot with views of a lake.
