Sick Day

It's hard work being sick!

She looks miserable, huh?  Day two of tiny sore throat and head ache that wears off by the afternoon/evening.

She made her first smoothie today...all by herself.  She is 6 after all, it's about time!

Two Random Pictures and a Michelle-Mini-Me

This one has been in my "blog" folder forever, but for some reason I haven't posted it yet.  Just love when they have their "dress-up" days.  Kimber is the fashion designer and always makes sure they look just right!
Happy Mother's Day to Me! (don't you love their new beach hats for Hawaii this summer?)
I have a certain daughter that has wanted hair like Aunt Michelle's FOREVER.  I have been a bit timid about letting her do it b/c I am afraid everyone will think she is a boy (she went to school today in a Scooby Doo T-shirt, warm-up pants, and tennis shoes...all from the boys department.  See where my fears come from?)  While I LOVE the cut on Shell (see how cute she is in the pic below!!!), I was having a hard time imagining it on my 8 year old.

BUT....

I gave in.  And Sam LOVES it.  It is really cute and beyond easy to do.  I miss getting to do fun stuff to it, but she promises she'll still let me do twists and knots.

Allison asked me if she could get her hair cut like that.  Sam chuckled a bit and said "Alli, I don't think Mom can handle more than one of us with this hair!"  She was right.  :)

Cake Wars!

I have the opportunity to be one of the Activity Day Leaders in our ward.  We decided to have a "Cake War" for our Mother/Daughter activity this year.  The mom and daughter teams got to make a one or two layer cake, anyway they wanted.  Our girls are so creative!

One night when I was gone the girls decided to draw up some possible options for our cake.  They had about 7 or 8 options, but their favorite was the "Waterfall Cake".

I think they did a great job recreating their idea:

The girls learned a poem and drew pictures to go with each line.  Lora used them as decorations before they did their performance.
The girls all lined up and ready to recite:

Rest of April

Holy Cow.  This new blogger is killing me.  I HATE CHANGE!  Seriously, I can't stop yelling at the computer!

Here are some picture from the end of April (in the wrong order b/c of this new fangled blogger!)

Konrad got a black eye playing basketball...throw on his biker clothes and he gets pretty tough looking :)  I really should have taken this picture earlier in the week when the eye was crazy black!
Stephanie had a birthday so we invited them over for dinner and birthday cake.  She was laughing at my continuous picture taking.  She was feeling famous I think :)

Steph and all the kids:

Allison started playing T-ball

 Ready for the ball:

 Samantha is playing baseball:
She is so good she doesn't even have to open her eyes to hit the ball :)
Allison played spring soccer.  Yeah Zombie Bombers!
Soccer Party at the Rock (which I missed b/c I had Influenza type B...yeah basically I was dying!)
Yummy cake:
